Helped Jessica Put An End To Her Painful Uterine Fibroids While Maintaining Her Fertility
Uterine fibroid specialists in Tampa helped Jessica get the best treatment for uterine fibroids that would end her pain and maintain her fertility.
Jessica was suffering from uterine fibroids that were causing her pain and affecting her quality of life.
Uterine fibroids can cause persistent symptoms such as:
- Constipation
- Pelvic pressure
- Frequent urination
- Heavy menstrual bleeding
- Difficulty emptying bladder
- Periods lasting more than 1 week
- Pelvic pain that does not go away
Jessica had been experiencing such symptoms for the past three years and was seeking help from gynecologists and primary care physicians.
Unfortunately, Jessica was presented with two options…a hysterectomy or an endometrial ablation, both of which would affect her fertility.
During her search for less aggressive alternatives for the treatment of her uterine fibroids, Jessica met board certified vascular surgeon, Dr. Brandt Jones. Dr. Jones recommended a less invasive and less drastic treatment for uterine fibroids, called Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE).
During UFE, small particles are injected into the arterial supply of the fibroids, causing the fibroids to shrink and become reabsorbed into the surrounding tissues, eliminating the fibroids and the symptoms that accompany them.

Dr. Jones performed uterine fibroid embolization on Jessica at The Vein and Vascular Institute’s outpatient endovascular suite. The procedure was minimally invasive and allowed Jessica to enjoy a quick recovery time, no visible scarring, and no more pelvic pain!
Thanks to Dr. Jones, Jessica is now living free from the debilitating symptoms of uterine fibroids and her fertility is maintained.
In this video Jessica explains how she suffered from uterine fibroids and her experience having them treated by board certified vascular surgeon Dr. Jones using the latest endovascular surgery methods.
Jessica's Testimonial About Having Uterine Fibroid Treatment
“Hi, I’m Jessica.
I spent about three years with some abdominal pain and cramping, heavy menstrual cycles.
I was seeing an OB/GYN as well as primary care physicians.
The diagnosis that they came up with for me were uterine fibroids.
The options presented to me at the gynecologists were a hysterectomy or an ablation.
I was not quite ready for that. I’m pretty young, that seemed a bit aggressive to me.
So I came across Dr. Jones and he offers a procedure that is minimally invasive and treats uterine fibroids called a UFE (Uterine Fibroid Embolization).
It’s minimally invasive. They go in through an artery and it’s able to shut off blood supply to the fibroids and then they shrink on their own.
It was a really seamless process. I went in at noon on a Thursday, I was out by 4pm and I was able to go back to work on Monday.
From the beginning to recovery the team at Lutz was really really wonderful and of course Dr. Jones is amazing.
If you or anyone you know have any vein and vascular disorders I would highly recommend Dr. Jones and all of the physicians and team at The Vein and Vascular Institute.
They have been wonderful!
I am now released and pretty symptom-free.”
